Jeff Collins of K9 Orthotics was excellent fitting a back brace to our precious little three and a half pound Yorkshire Terrier, Katie.
Katie had been brutally attacked by a black Labrador retriever, and ended up with a broken back. She was rushed from New Brunswick to the University of Prince Edward Island Veterinary College to be operated on.
When the operation was over the Veterinarian called on Jeff to have a look at Katie and see what he could do to make her recovery time more comfortable and safer from further injury.
Jeff was so thoughtful, knowing how awful we felt that our little one was going through so much pain. He fitted her with an orthotic back brace that helped her regain her strength, and enable her to live her life as though nothing had ever happened.
Jeff made adjustments to the back brace to make sure that the fit was snug enough, but not too tight and light enough that this little dog would be able to move about freely. Katie wore the brace for four weeks and this helped her bones knit together quickly. Without this back brace she may have caused more trauma to her back. She is a very energetic little dog and trying to keep her quiet and calm during her recovery time was not easy.
We are very grateful to Jeff of K-9 Orthotics for the expertise, kindness and caring he gave Katie to make her recuperation time so much easier.
